DISCLAIMER:

NONE OF MY SHOWS IN THIS LIST WILL MATCH MD5 / SHINID FILES POSTED AT ETREE!

I tag all my files and often times change file names to reflect etree standards. When tags are added, altered, MD5 files will error. Consequently I Delete ALL MD5 files from traded FLAC.

IF HAVING NUMBERS MATCH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MUSIC FOR YOU, PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME FOR TRADES. Thank you.

Nothing on this list is for sale!!!! These shows are available for trade ONLY!

I have Almost THREE Terabytes of FLAC that I've received through electronic trades / Hardrive swaps, that have not as of yet been added to the list!

Some shows I have on BOTH FLAC and CD. The # of FLAC listed equals the # of CDs. If a 0 is listed, then I ONLY have the FLAC copy. If WAV is listed, it was sent to me as a WAV file and has not yet been converted to FLAC.

I've been a live-Music taper since 1986, and currently use Neumann KM-140 microphones.

After taping with DAT since 1994, I switched to a Tascam DR-100mkII flash recorder in mid 2013.

I am in the process of converting all my DATs and CDs to FLAC. All the DATs have been transferred but will not be updated on the list until I am ready to convert them to FLAC. Some still need to be split into tracks with Audacity.

(My masters are listed in the notes column on the far right side.)

If You Are Not Interested In Keeping Track Of Audience Recording Details Please Do Not Bother Contacting Me.

My interests are rather varied, as you will see.

CDRs from my DATs have been burned with an HHB CDR 800 pro standalone recorder, from 1998 to 2013.

I am no longer able to transfer DAT recordings, as all of my machines have problems, but all my DATs have been transferred. There are a lot that need to be tracked and FLAC'd.

Soundboard and Audience recordings are graded on different criteria.

An A+ Audience Will Not Ever Match An A+ Soundboard; A Listing Of An A+ Rating Is Simply The Highest Grade In Its Respective Class.

Sound quality grading is subjective, (especially for older shows. For example, a recording from the 1970s will never match the sound quality possible with today's digital recording technology, and should be judged in accordance to the sound recording technology of the time.)

Sound Quality Ratings:

A+ Exceptional; usually reserved strictly for soundboards but I have also given this grade to some of my best FOB Digital Audience Masters, as well as other exceptional Front Of Board Audience recordings. A  Very Good. No flaws. (I don't consider minor polite applause Between songs on an audience recording to be a flaw.) A- Pretty good, but might have a few minor flaws; ie: less than ideal mic placement, some crowd noise on audience recordings, or other misc flaws, ie; slight hiss on soundboard recordings, or very slight distortion. B+ Good but not quite up to an A or A- rating. B More crowd noise, more distortion, or multi generation copies, etc.

Not Currently Trading With Anyone Out Of My Circle. But, if you're looking for something specific, hit me up and I can send via Wetransfer.com

This is the second go ‘round with this show because after completion the first time it was discovered to have a noise reduction imbalance on the last three sets; Tom Petty, Robin Williams, and Bruce Springsteen. This resulted in a weird ‘underwater sound’, especially on the vocals of the Tom Petty set. New cassette transfers were made from the original 2nd gen cassettes of those sets and I re-tracked those WAV files. The new files were then downsampled to 16bit/44.1kHz and tagged to match the original files. I did modify the file names slightly on this new version so that each disc / folder is an individual ‘set’ so everything will match with the tags. (Previously the artists file sets were denoted with a 1, 2, or 3 in the filenames to reflect the actual sets at the show. Now the folders match the file sets.) Also, previously Nils Lofgren was listed as performing first but it was determined later that the Neil Young / CSNY set was actually the opening set so now the the new folders reflect that change. Each set is listed individually in separate folders, but the show will play sequentially in order from start to finish. All sound files have been down sampled to 16 bit / 44.1kHz in Audacity, and converted to FLAC with tags added via xACT 2.51. Thanks to all involved for the capture of this first ever Bridge benefit show, and thanks as well to 'Rocksuitcase' from Taperssection.com for making his uncompleted files available for me to add the finishing touches and complete this amazing show. Front-cover artwork added to FLAC tags for each artist. Minor edits and fades were made to repair tape flips. ****************************************************************************************************** FLAC

Ron Starrett was able to take track 1-3 from "Dancing Across The Water" and splice them into "Another Osaka". He also added Cortez to the end of "Another Osaka", amplified the spliced tracks and normalized them before burning, and split the discs in two sets: acoustic and electric. Mr. Clean did some additional work trying to blend the songs as seamless as possible. He also cleaned the noise in Mellow my Mind and the lower volume level of Cortez. 0 FLAC

45. ??/??/76 The Complete Joel Bernstein Tapes - Compilation, Compilation A Soundboard Neil Young - The Complete Joel Bernstein tapes (all 22 songs) Acoustic soundboard compilation, November 1976 Sources: Tracks 1-9 and 12-22: "Acoustic Young" bootleg Tracks 10 and 11: "River of Pride" bootleg Joel Bernstein worked with Neil Young as a photographer and as his musical archivist. He compiled soundboard recordings of his favorite performances from Neil's acoustic sets in November 1976. These recordings have been widely distributed for a long time -- I believe they first appeared on vinyl under the title "Last Plane Outta Here." (Vinyl is NOT the source of what I have here.) Most Young collectors have these recordings, but most of them have the version taken from the bootleg titled "Acoustic Young," which is missing two of the 22 songs: "Heart of Gold" and "A Man Needs a Maid." Here I've used the 20 tracks from "Acoustic Young" and inserted the missing songs in the original correct running order. Those two songs are take from the "River of Pride" bootleg, which I think has slightly lower sound quality compared with "AY," though you may not notice it. I've equalized the volume because the stuff was taken from two sources. Note that although these are soundboard recordings, they are not direct from the master. The tapes were passed around between friends until someone finally bootleged them. I consider the sound to be excellent for a bootleg -- especially one from 1976 -- though it's not official-release quality. It's a very enjoyable disc, and I consider it to be an essential part of a good Neil Young collection. Artwork is included. 01. Campaigner, (Boston 11/22/76 Early) 02. A very nice alternate capture of this concert was shared from "The Dutch Masters Archives" and the missing song was borrowed from that. Transfer: DAT played on Sony DTC-790 deck -> S/PDIF cable -> Terratec Aureon 5.1 soundcard -> Adobe Audition -> WAV -> CDWave -> WAV -> FLAC Inserted the missing segment into our recording to complete the second set iZotope RX6 Advanced & Har-Bal 3.0 > CD Wave > AudioGate (16-44) > TLH (flac level 8) (same as above) With a quiet acoustic performance the crowd was excessively loud. The volume has been reduced in the appropriate areas to make this play smoother. **** This is another fine recording from the Universal Amphitheatre. One of our favorite venues in Los Angeles as the acoustics were perfect for audience recordings. We called ourlittle band of recorders the Los Angeles tape eXchange (LAX). For this tape John Musgrave was the recording engineer with Mark (the B-Man) and Mike Martin (the Flying M) holding the microphones. Equipment was the Sony D-5 M cassette deck and two Sennheiser mkh-404tu microphones about 6 feet apart. The master cassette was played back on my Akai GX570-D2 (w/ Dolby) and copied on my Revox B77 using Maxell UD-35 90 tape. Previously shared back in 2010 this is an upgrade. Newly transferred from that same first generation R2R using better equipment and software. This also includes that missing track which is a bonus. It was only marked 'Neil Young Louisville', so I had to search through Setlists.fm to match up the setlist with a date. It's not a bad recording, and is clear and up-front sounding, though there is some talking from the taper in a few places. I was really surprised that no one at etree had it in their collection. Neil mentioned taking an intermission at the end of the recording, but apparently he ended the show early because of the flu and there was a riot, described in the following newspaper report: LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Flu-stricken musician Neil Young ended his concert early Friday night and passed out in his dressing room while fans jeered and threw chairs. Three people were arrested. Police said there were no injuries. Those taken into custody were charged with inciting a riot, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and criminal attempted assault. Police restored ordered in about an hour at the state-owned Commonwealth Convention Center, where about 5,500 people paid $10.50 and $12.50 for the concert. Dr. Richard Greathouse of Louisville, a pediatrician and elected Jefferson County coroner, announced to the crowd that Young had become ill and was unable to continue the performance. The announcement prompted jeers by the crowd. Some people threw cups of beer and tossed chairs. Police estimated damage at the downtown convention hall at $1,000. A spokesman for Sunshine Productions, the agency that booked the concert, said Young has been suffering from the flu for several days. 'He's very sick,' Sunshine spokesman Steve Cohen said. 'The rigors of the road are not an easy thing and an illness doesn't make it any better.' Cohen said the concert probably would be rescheduled. He promised a prompt announcement on tickets for those who had attended the abbreviated concert. FLAC

This is a nice recording, recorded from the balcony near the soundboard. Apparently, Pegi Young was sitting less than 5 feet away from the hidden tape deck which made flipping the tapes a little hairy. This setlist is different than what's listed in Ghosts On The Road, but matches a second, lesser quality master made from near the stage, so I think this is correct. And yes, he played This Note's For You twice in a row to end the late show. FLAC

It was jammed and we were right in the crowd. Used Johns Musgrave's 2 Sennheiser MKH 404 tu microphones with the Sony D5-M and 2 TDK-MA C-90 Cassettes. We were right were we needed to be but there are always "those guys" when recording and we had one also. Moved around a couple times to get distance but a lot of his loud clapping came through. During editing the real "close" clapping was removed as much as possible (one clap at a time) using the delete and repair functions. We were in full stealth mode and were holding the microphones lower than preferred and the high end suffered a bit. I don't normally transfer tapes without decoding the Dolby but in this case it compensates for the microphone location. The quiet songs do suffer slightly from the increase in the analog tape hiss. Gave some thought about using noise reduction but the hiss isn't that bad and decided not too. Some applause was tacked on to the end of disc one track 8 from 41:16 to 41:22 where the flip is spliced. Some applause was tacked on to the end of disc one track 13 at 67:47 where the flip is spliced. Some applause was tacked on to the end of disc two track 4 from 14:39 to 14:43 where the flip is spliced. Some applause was tacked on to the end of disc two track 10 from 55:07 to 55:16 where the flip is spliced. This was to clean up the quick tape flips that cut into the applause and made abrupt endings. Amplitude was increased by 3 dB on both sets. Audacity was used to record and perform the editing as well as to dither the files to 16 bits. Cd Wave was then used to cut the tracks and Traders Little Helper was used to convert and create checksums and fingerprints. Sit back and enjoy another trip in the way back machine. I think you will agree that this show is in the groove. Ain't It The Truth. Sail Away, Powderfinger, Ohio, After The Goldrush) OldNeumanntapr Notes- I got this show as a 1st gen cassette from my friend Jim Ho, who recorded the master. I don’t know why a portion of the acoustic set is missing. Perhaps Jim only had one tape and was saving some room for the Shocking Pinks portion of the show. We recorded a few shows together in the early 90s. Jim’s D6 was a first-year model and lacked metal tape and Dolby C capability, and did not have a line out like the newer WM-D6C decks (like mine) had. FLAC
